I have a huge problem with "remembering" 9/11

I've talked to several people today.. co-workers.. friends.. people on the net.
No one was connected to anyone that died there in any way... yet they were all telling me how sad it was and how bad they feel. Yes. It was a sad thing. It was a loss of many lives. However... why in the world would you, someone who had no connection to any of these people... feel sad about it 5 years later? Hundreds of thousands of people die every year. A lot of them for no good reason. Are you mourning their deaths? Deaths of cancer patients?? Deaths of children who were killed in accidents?? Deaths of people trying to help those who are down and out that get caught in the middle of a battle and get killed?? Deaths of firefighters/police/EMTs?? Deaths of other heros?

No.

Why? Because that doesn't make you a part of a nationally recognized big event.

Anyone who's still "mourning" 9/11 is just lying to themselves. They don't really care.. they just want to say what they were doing on some day that everyone remembers so that they'll feel special.
*******

i know im late but i had to contribute my .02

yup we were all alive in 1812. i figured you counter my statement with the pearl harbor attacks but i guess not.
You said this was the first time the US has been attacked on our own soil. It is not. I don't understand what being alive has to do with your comment.

The whole idea of mourning whether it be in relation to terrorism or not is a retarded element of our society that should be bred out of us slowly. Yeah lets all feel as badly as possible for as much time as we can stand it. Thats what our loved ones would have wanted.

good times !
not a single reason why you called him that but you just had to get your two cents in

why i add to this.,....well many people will call me shit and not say why just mindless blabber of hate

books> car audio.com
i say this because he is talking shit about the people remembering a tragic event in our history. That's like saying we shouldn't remember the wars and mourn those deaths because people die everyday...umm hello? our nation was attacked and hundreds of innocent people lost their lives including fireman, EMS, and police officers who instead of evacuating, ran INTO the collapsing buildings to try and save lives. Sorry but i think i will remember them and mourn the loss.

Although I agree with the whole numbers thing. For me its not the numbers, these people went to work that day like another average workday and some cowardass monkeys in the name of there so called GOD committed ******* at the expense of 3,000+ lives.
