I don’t know of any “deals” per say, but you could start looking on this site. I just ordered from there a couple months ago and got my sub within 2 weeks.

Id get a sundown sa 15 d4 v3. Specifically the version 3.
If you can do 1 ohm it would be better watts. In that case get a sundown sa 15 d2 v3. You can find them around for about 100 to 200 U.S$ depending on condition. But it slams for the price. Looks like this. This ones got rubs on the surround, but she still can do a 150+ on 5k

Oh man, I dont know how large my trunk is, but the whole thing. I cant check right now, but its a pretty big Buick Sedan. Space shouldn't be an issue. I've had a dual 15 box fit fine so any single 15 box should work.

He can get a dual 2 ohm as well and run it at 2 ohm until he upgrades his amplifier in the future then he can run it at 1 ohm if he wants then. Or if he wants add in a 2nd subwoofer and then of course go Dual 4 ohm. Either option will work depending on if he wants to do a 2nd subwoofer in the future.
