After a friend of mine used 18w3s in a big tuned enclosure, I decided to use 15W3s. I like the sound of his but didn't want it soo big. I just moved into my new home and am getting ready to start building. It looks like this enclosure is going to be bigger than I really wanted as well. To save space I thought about maybe an IB alignment using the attic. My question is will I get a good amount of output with only 2 15" drivers in IB? Any time I had seen IB used, at least 4 drivers were involved. I know in a large ported enclosure tuned down to 16 I will get plenty of output. IB isn't that efficient though, and don't know how much output I will lose.

hmmmmmmmm,this best thing i can say is that u go to avsforum.com and go to audio section and then look in the subwoofer section. alotta guys over there have an IB setup and would be more than happy to tell u their thouts on it. don't know about output, but IB, from what i understand, is the perfect choice if u want that 'war of the worlds' bass!

If you want a good IB driver, go over to http://www.teamssaudio.com and buy a few of their custom drivers for $250 each. Perfect IB 18's.

I already have these drivers and they were the perfect price ($200 BNIB). They were in the back of a buddies closed shop. How do you determine whether a driver will behave properly in IB?

Usually higher Qts values are better for IB, you want a driver with a lot of damping because the enclosure doesn't control the cone movement very well.

I will more than likely do a large IB later on then and just throw these in a ginormous ported enclosure.

i got 2 15" NA subs...250wrms each...in 2 large a$$ folded horns...(if thats what its called)...and my entire house shakes...wid just a little power...

idk how much space it is that you have...but 1 of these folded horns and you'r good...its huge but im sure you can think of creative things to do with it...
