5.0 Standard Multi-channel system with SBS-01 surrounds $740

Onkyo 605 Receiver

Pick up a nice single 15" subwoofer, and a plate amp, like the 1000watt dayton...

Or if you insist, a pair of 15's and the 1000watt plate amp.

And call it a day... Full 5.1 with receiver and 1000watt substage for... Give or take $2000.

Under your budget, will sound great... and you can build your own substage... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I am chosing that Onkyo SR605 receiver as mentioned above. There is very little that it doesn't do that I could actually use. Currently, I use the lowest line polk audio set, the 240w dayton plate amp, and the old sundown 10s for a 5.1. It works well enough I think...

You could probably get all that for around $1200.

****it
And I wanted to be stupid

How do those speakers sound? Worth getting the "deluxe" upgrade on it?
I've never heard them in person, but have read TONS of great reviews. I've convinced my dad to purchase a set sometime in the near future...

I wouldn't get the deluxe upgrade for the sole reason that surrounds don't get THAT much use. I doubt you would notice a difference at all.

The front 3 is what matters, that's why I recommended the MTM Mains + Center as opposed to just the regular TM's...

INdeed. I was looking at a lot of other recievers, with a max price of ~900... I ended up having to cut my budget nearly in half after some unforseen financial trouble...

It did everything I wanted and more, and at that price... it's amazing. I'm loving mine, had it for about 4months now. I was going to get the 705, but was told it is not worth it unless I have 6.1 or more... and I'm going to be sticking with 5.1 for quite some time...
