How to use a door/window crank removal tool ?

I can't get the window crank off a 2008 accent. Can someone explain exactly how to use this tool? I understand there is a little c clip that is supposed to pop out. Instructions say to find the open end of the clip, but I can't even see it. I slide tool behind door crank, I push, pull, twist, turn but nothing pops out. I tried google and people say to do this and that, but it still didn't work. This car has a spacer between the window crank and the door. Should i try sliding tool between spacer and window crank. or between door and spacer?

Use the hook end to pop off the CLOSED end of the clip. Use a large flat blade screwdriver to pry the handle away from the door panel, so you can see the clip better and go behind the spacer.

I ended up breaking the ****er, window crank. I guess I pushed too hard with the window crank removal tool and sheered the plastic in half. Found the c clip. It popped out. So I glued the plastic back together, but I still dont see how the clip fits and holds it on.

I just get a pick and snag the pin with it. It's a lot simpler. Just make sure you have something to catch the oh-**** clip.
