How much internral volume for speakers enclosures?

How much internal volume is needed for mounting speekers into my doors? I will be making door pods once my deadener arives. If it's important, I got Alpine type-R 6.25" components.

Is there any disadvantages to having as much space as possible? Can there be too much space? Should I use poly fill? Sorry for all the noob questions, but I kinda need to know.

when alpine built the civic they put them in .25 ft^3 boxes
