ive bought a pair of type r 4ohm coaxials and im trying to figure everything out before i install them.

i was wondering if they can handle 140rms? because my amp is a crossfire vr354 and is rated as

35x4@4ohm

70x4@2ohm

140x2@4ohm*bridged

would i be able to wire the speakers up to run at 2ohms or is bridging them my only choice to make power

ttt

please someone chip in some information //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

would 140wrms be way too much for type r coaxials??

About 200 watts a piece, but that means nothing. It just means they're inefficient. I ran 4 off them and IMO I've heard other brands get louder with less power like Focal and Boston.

I had 4 type r coaxials and I only ever ran them at 95 RMS on my amp, but I also didn't set the high pass and two of them eventually blew like within a year. My music is country and not a ton of bass, and one blew I believe because that channel picked up interference the other one I have no idea about.

Mine blew in under one year on 95 RMS with country music so if you put 140 to them and listen to any sort of bassy music, fast.

I was recommeded not to throw my sax125.2 at a some alpine type r components
Where is your sense of adventure? I am running two Lunar L60x2 amps with one bridged to each set of door components in my Civic! My door speakers contain an Alpine Type R 6.5" woofer and a CDT TW-25 tweeter. I think the Satnet crossover will blow capacitors before I hurt the speakers. I just hope they don't take an amp with them if that does indeed happen.

Anywho, with the gains as far down as they will go, I get 140 watts RMS @ volume level 25 on my Alpine HU. Those little Lunars are capable of outputting 280 watts RMS each:eek: I finally found a "newer" amp that gives me great RMS power and headroom in a decent footprint:veryhapp: I guess I will start putting my Linear Power amplifiers up on eBay now:eek:
