How many watts RMS could I run nicely off of an 85Ah AGM Deep Cycle batt

yeah had my buddy on 35 ah custom ups setup, he has a AP 1500 and does just fine with small drops. 0 gauge all way through.

that is awesome, what kind of alternator does he have?

I think the biggest difference here is going from a lead acid starter battery to an AGM batt, which as I understand are more suited for audio applications due to their higher charge/discharge rate

120 amp on his monte, but hes running the AP 1500 plus teh AP big 4 channel. The batts were from a ups maintence schedule that were removed. They only use them for a year here at work, so freebies once a year

nice, I have a smaller alt but I definitely won't be going over 1.5k all speakers included, I have no idea how much the ap 4 channel amp uses.

Free batts? lol ontop of everything being cheaper in the USA

yup free batts, there 18 ah 12v so stick them bad boys together and he is int eh process of just making a bank.
