Amp in protection mode!

Hey guys!

Recently my amp dropped into protection mode and im unsure as to why. the amp is a Kicker 4channel which is fairly new. It is running 1 1000w 12inch sub and 2 6x9 speakers. I did the basics first, i checked the ground wire and sanded back and cleaned the contacts. I had the battery charged to full amp to make sure it had enough power. the bettery and amp fusses are intact. I also get the whizzing alternator noise with the amp in protection mode! im running out of ideas as to what it could be ! All the wiring is the correct lengths and guages.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Unfortunetly it dosent as soon as i turn the car back on the amp goes straight into protection mode! Very few times it has switched back on while i was driving when i had it on a low volume but when i went to turn it up high it cut out again! so im not sure where the problem lies! its so confusing

Check your ground location, to see if its loose, and make sure there are no Frail wiring touching on the amp terminals to the amps Chassis/heat sink .Check all wiring from the battery to the amp for loose connections.Id start there first of all,to begin ruling things out.Wouldnt hurt to go to Orileys/Autozone and get your Voltage tested with ,and without a load,to see how your Voltage is doing. Some things to begin with..throw some Pics of your Ground Location for the amp, and describe.
