HOW DO I wire AN 8ohm realistic40-102 and a 4ohm Rockford fosgate S1-84 to a PLA2570?

OKAY. I am slightly embarrased...I had the amp upside down and was reading the bottom part that said bridged and pointed to the outer terminals. I had hooked them up like speakers 1 and 2 1,2,1,2 originally then measured the the terminals from the + of one channel and the - of the other...I hooked up the 4 to one channel when I went down to look at it(I was looking in the online manual and saw my error) because that speaker was already in there, and it went into protection after two minutes. I am going to run down and bridge the 8 and see if that works.

I had it wired wrong. I was reading it upside down and thought that where it said bridged and left and right meant that it was ++-- but I didnt see the top side where it specified right and left channel. I know this must be funny with all you pro's who have serious gear and debate the nuances of sound performance, but I don't have the money to pay a specialist to do it for me and Im trying to learn anyway... Anyways I tried the 4ohm in one channel and the 8 ohm bridged and it still went into protection. the light for protection actually came on the 1st time I tried the bridge and was pushing it, then not when I retried it a few minutes later.

my ground is solid, I have power on both sides of the 100amp fuse on the wire, though I did have to modify my terminal by using a longer bolt with another bronze nut on it to hold the lead and the amp power chord to it.

you guys give up on me?

Another thing is that my power at the amp end of the power chord was only 11.8 when the amp calls for

output power 14.4v DC, 1KHz

RMS Power @ 4 Ohms

RMS Power @ 2 Ohms

Maximum Power Output

input sensitivity

low level inputs

high level inputs

200 Watts x 2

285 Watts x 2

1000 Watts x 2

to bridge you take a + from one channel and a - from the other channel, some amps will use L + and R - and some will use L- and R+, you ned to check the owners manual.

No you leave the unused channels alone. When you bridge channels, you are combining 2 into 1.

Also having below 12v is bad. When your car is idling you should have around 13.8v, around 2k rpm or so you should be at 14.4v and with the car off should be around 12-12.5v. Check your battery itself. I dont think that amp is powerful enough to cause that much of a voltage drop.

you want to check the voltage with the car running

should be 13.8 - 14.4 volts

Also wtf did you groan me? I am here helping you you are the one that looks stupid spelling cord as chord.

Crispin you are the one being a d!ck. Why the hell does my spelling matter, its not like I didn't actually spell a word, just the wrong one. As far as I am concerned this site isn't helping me find a solution, but is helping me learn how to figure this **** out...of the 42 posts including mine, not one has led me to the answer. So far one guy in the beginning, Shizzzzzon and Kushy_dreams are the only ones that have offered real help. I appreciate your input but I figured that out back when Kushy pointed it out.

lol looks like you have more groans then thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

also OP - what is a POWER CHORD?

^^^^ Power chords lrn2 electric guitar....

OP. You got good advice for your initial question. The whole thing sounds like a disaster and IMO you should really find someone who knows what they're doing to help you. You are using very low quality equipment which probably won't be very forgiving to user error and not being something common, you'll be hard pressed to find someone here who knows enough about your amp to give you precise instructions.

the AVIC was a tad more complicated to wire not to mention stuffing it in a smallish stereo hole. thanks for advice.

Drill a hole and use the proper protective split loom and hole grommets to keep the outer speaker jacket from knicks and cuts, give just enough...

It mostly comes down to weight. You can have a super lightweight cone, soft suspension and aluminum coil on a sub and you pretty much get a pro...
