subs have a wierd smell

Coils burning. In other words your killing ur sub. Clipping leads to failure everytime. When the smoke starts be sure not to inhale its deadly if inhaled over a long period of time. TOXIC!! To stop this a good starting point would be to turn gains down and start reading all the threads on this site on how to set gains.

they wanged hard enough lol. had them on a sae1200. ok i took my groan back
I had mine on a Kicker KX1200.1 and every time I went full tilt they would get a little stinky. Never had a problem with them though, they were still in perfect condition when I sold them after years of playing. Gains were set with a DMM so if there was clipping it was minimal. I've read about other people on the forum having their R's get stinky too.

Additinally, no need to reference "max" anything as those specs are useless. Most of know how to look at specs for a given speaker, amp, HU, etc...

That’s the little single 6.5 inch enclosure. The Savard did just as well as the RDS. These subs do well in ported or 6th orders but not as well...
