Hooking up my crossover power wire.

Is the crossover the XM6? If not, what model?
Coustic XM-3

The Alpine amp is 4 channel - are you bridging it to 2 tweeters?
No, only running 2 channels.

The Sony amp is 2 channel - are you running the 4 6x9's as parallel pairs?
Yes, unbridged.

How do you have the crossover configured, and what settings are you using on the amps' HPF/LPF? They all play together. You're running an active system that can take a lot of time to dial in.
When I hooked up the cross over, I set the hpf for 6x9s at 80hz, and the tweets hpf at about 3.5khz. I turned the amps crossover to off. As i turned up the volume and the level at the crossover the speakers sounded blowed..... Gains on amp are all the way down.

Seems you've set it up correctly. Unfortunately it's hard to diagnose from my keyboard. One thing I would try is to strip the system down to minimum - replace the Sony amp with the other 2 channels of the Alpine. It will take a 2 ohm load, but using just 1 set of 6x9s would simplify the install more. See if you can get a minimum configuration to work, then work up from that.

BTW the Coustic crossovers get very high ratings in the reviews. Being 10 yrs old doesn't mean anything if it hasn't been abused.

Well i found a hpf on my HU so that eased the pain some.... I reeally dont think i need one now due to the HU having a hpf. Made a big difference.

But seems like im running into more and more problems, im tired of asking questions lol. I said this in another thread somehwere but tuning my system is becoming a nightmare.... Just ***** because I know it has alot of potential, theres just alot of missing links i need to get it there...

If your HU has a built in Crossover there is no need for the crossover network, I found that out trying to tune a system that had a CDA-117 and a 2-way Active network, save some headache and ditch the crossover network. The crossovers were built for a time when you had to get really high end HU's to have multiple sets of Pre-outs and built in crossovers.
