i drive a mitsu lancer which comes with 61/2's all around. My friend drives a benz, which has 4 inch speakers in the front and 6 1/2s in the back, with 2 subs an tweerters; all of which are bose. do you think it would be wise for me to switch from my system to his system. that would mean me reducing my front speakers to 4 inches. what do you guys think?

No. Go with an amped set of 6.5" comps up front and a nice sub stage.

First of all, there is SOOO much better than Bose, IMO Bose is crap and for the money you pay for it, even worse

Second, a 6.5 speaker will be better than 4" speakers

Third, rears are useless when you got subs back there, like the WIZ said, just stick to an amped 6.5 comp set up front and call it a day lol
