i plan getting new speakers for a new truck i got, http://www.crutchfield.com/S-wrG966VmdVL/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?search=Polk+Audio+db6501&i=107DB6501 along the lines of those. now this time with all my audio stuff im doing it by myself, and i know how to match amp and sub watts and ohms together, but im not entirely sure about speakers. for these comps do i get like a 4-channel amp that totals the RMS wattage (or a little over) or do i need less than 4, or 4 with each channel the total wattage?

thanks

also, if anyone can recommend a different set of comps that may sound better for an 04 4runner thats not more than $275, please suggest

Do you really want to buy from crutchfield? They are authorized so you get a nice warranty from them, but there are a lot cheapers places and a lot of better components.

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7537_Pioneer+Premier+TS-C720PRS.html Very nice components for a good price.

As far as speakers go - get an amp with as many speakers you want to power that will put out as much or more WRMS than the speakers RMS. A lot of speakers can take a lot more watts than what their WRMS. I was pushing 75wrms speakers with 120wrms pretty easily.

ok thanks....hm now im thinking tho that i should just get a set of 2 way speakers because honestly i dont trust myself drilling for tweeters and x-overs just yet, maybe in some time...now im wondering, should i get a good pair up front then not put any new ones or take out my stock speakers in the back because the subs will drown them out, or should i get the same speakers for the back or something?

Most people on here will suggest ONE nice pair of comps up front powered by a decent 2 channel amp putting out close to or above the speakers RMS rating.

not quite sure yet, im still figuring things out, right now i have 1 12" Fi Q in a ported box 2.5 cubes, and the amp powering that is a power acoustik SL-2000D if im not mistaken, i got it almost new from a friend for 200 bucks cause he got a new one for christmas, and only used it for a month
