Well wondering what you guys would suggest I get to replace my stock speakers.

I've got a 97' F-150 Lariat w/the "Premium sound package" *ahem* *BS* *Ahem*

anyways..should I just go for new speakers? or bother w/a new amp?

And which speakers are the best bang for the buck? Looking for something mid/highrange that won't kill my wallet..

you definitely need to get a nice component system. i am going for a infinity kappa 5.1 perfect system. if you got a 5.25x... you need to get a 5.1 and if you have a 6.5x... then you need to get the 6.1 system. these are msrp for 530 and are called the best speakers money can buy. ive found some for 280 including shipping from the interent. i have yet to hear these, but i strongly recommend them.

thats where youll find. this source is reliable from the reviews i have read. about 1% has something bad to say out of the 20k things they have sold. its from ebay but thats where im going to get mine

I agree, IkeSound.com's one of the better online dealers out there. I ordered my Perfect 6.1's from them for $270. **** good deal. Didn't mind the slow shipping, anyways it was free.

Snitchel - I'll get back to you on this later this weekend or into next week. I'm planning on putting the crossovers in the trunk. I mean, why stick them in the door if you have to take the door-panel off to adjust them? From what I've heard, they are pretty good component speakers for $300. That's the most I'll spend right now. I'm just entering aftermarket audio.

haha, thats cool. what adjustments would you have to make on the crossovers? i didnt know that you could change things...

hmmm, i would like to get a shelf or something for them.. since i am getting 2 pair, and they would start to take up some hardcore space then...

well i certaintly hope that you tell me all about yours once you get them in, and from what ive heard they are very good for they money.

haha, this one is for Jdg784... this forum has gotten off the topic a little maby...

hey Jdg784, my mom has a 2000 expedition eddie bauer edition, (with premium sound) and it sounds crappy. although it isnt too bad at low volume and has a small subwoofer in the back (6 or 8 inch) and it also has a pretty good reciever, it doesnt perform as well as i would have hoped. all the speakers top out at about 70% voulme, and the sub topps out at 55% with +3/10 bass. for my next car i would just say "no reciever, speakers or anything" and ill just save the money and buy something nice instead of replacing their stuff.
