I've seen plenty of IA's shut down during play. Ask william collier what happened at '06 db drag finals.Absolutely not however i do know usually just from the nature of a speakers reactions, the way it moves during certain frequencies, just several things that happen at high volumes, that even if a frequency isnt being made i know enough to know if its the box or the amplifiers fault. And when you turn an epicenter on and voila you have frequencies that were not there well...And maybe hifonics did that to raise the efficiency so that power lost on the bottom is funneled back into higher frequencies ..I get it.But wow.Or maybe it was a subsonic filter set to high.I dont know.Do they have subsonics onboard i hope so.lol.Oh and i sawthem (actually one of the 2) shut down ...during play.Never seen that with an incriminator.
You are right, Willy's 40.1's did shutdown all 4 of them on one woofer! The sub was reconed wrong and the coil wasn't centered. On the burp the coil slammed against the top plate causing all 4 amps, 2 on each coil to kick protect! Tommy some of these post appear to be aimed at me, I hope that isn't the case. Your post give alot of facts, like Willy for example, but they never give the whole story about why the gear did what it did, in Willy case it was a bad recone. On Jared Horton, it was a weak electrical system and not that the amps didn't make power. Forgive me for somewhat pointing the finger, but you can't help but read this whole thread and think that!I've seen plenty of IA's shut down during play. We also got a 20.1 to shut down doing a test burp. They are not indestructible, though they can take a shitton of abuse.
Yes, the maxximus does have a subsonic filter. Perhaps you had the amp set up improperly? I've never heard of an amp that "stops" producing frequencies.
If you don't mind me asking, what exactly did that setup consist of?
Nothing directed at you, just general observations. You are right, Willy's 40.1's did shutdown all 4 of them on one woofer! The sub was reconed wrong and the coil wasn't centered. Thanks,

I have been told that they were not designed to run AS low, but I don't know this for sure.Just a quick question a little off topic, Everybody knows the 20.1 can be run at ridiculous low impedence with proper electrical, can the 40.1 be dropped as low also?
I know its not warrantied or recommended, I was just curious.
"Auditioned a couple recently"?I basically think that the maxximus is a decent amplifier, had the chance to audition a couple recently but found them to be a bit dry on material that wasnt digitized.i dont give a **** if it was 1,000 or 10,000 watts there is no forgiveness for something that drops the ball on sonics when it has such a thin slice of the spectrum to reproduce.and for the price charged come on!its not really maxximum anything.maximum hype id say.Anyone listened to music with incriminators and with maxxsonics products???i mean thats what an amplifier is supposed to do is amplify hopefully music...lol.
Those last couple of octaves...from 30 hz down.you know the ones that take all the power to reproduce? those ones???
No epicenter no nothing except the onboard electronics.
And i know these are products for competitors and who cares how they sound right???
At the end of the day i need the incriminator more Dependable and more affordable, with similar results...And Tons better sonically!!!

you admit that you didnt even know if they had a subsonic filter or even know where it was set to., and now you want to say you could accurately take a reading on what was going on?Yes dropped the Bizzall!!!on lower register sonics...spectrally speaking. So much so... that i didnt even think of breaking out the Telarc Digital..Because that would have been disastrous...Decent amps tho...Just not what i expected.
