hifonics maxximus vs incriminator audio 40.1

It was in a superstreet vehicle, so safe to say quite a lot. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
They gained using ma audio hk4000's over the 40.1's.

I also know of a certain someone who tried using them in street max who got less than 3kw out of each one. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It's safe to say that 20.1's and 40.1's aren't exactly the most efficient amps out there when they are ran at a low ohm load.
We did have one guy get more power out of HK4000's than 40.1's, but you can't expect to go from 4 HK4000's to 4 40.1's and gain when you have just enough electrical for the HK4000's.

Tommy stop saying "someone" or "people" say there name I want to clear up all confusion.

It's safe to say they were far more experienced than the average consumer.
It was a head to head test with similar situations.

No offense to tommy, but "king of bass" is simply a name. He's just very popular because of the exposure he gets and the fact that he can play music cleanly and at very high levels.

His truck has not set any SPL records. His driveby score has already been beaten by 3.5 dB and bob perillo had the highest bassrace score last year.
Tommy was going to do a 140+ at MECA, but was told he couldn't come due to not enough points, he even then offered to come and do an expo run just to show what the truck could do. Tommy did a low 159 in Bassrace with a broke windshield and a late start, he loses alittle over 2 db just with the broke windshield. Come to SBN and watch the run!

Not to start anything, but why should one 4kw amp require more electrical than another 4kw amp? I mean afterall, the 40.1 is rated for less power than the hk4000. So it would be safe to assume that you shouldn't need more power for an amp thats rated for less.

And honestly, I don't remember their names. This was at '06 dB drag finals (in louisville). We were in a bar and someone overheard 40.1's and they began talking about them and how they lost after switching out their HK's for 40.1's. If I remembered their name I would tell you. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Like I've stated earlier, I've got nothing against you or your products. You've always put out high quality stuff. But I don't like it when people spew bullshit in order to make one manufacturer looke better than the other. It was pretty obvious the thread starter was looking for the answer that he wanted to hear and was not exactly open to suggestions.

Well, tommy's driveby record is broken now, so maybe we'll see him turn it up. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I'm more than confident that tommy can do over a 160 in bassrace, but when the class is 159.9 then obviously he's not going to do it.

The question wasn't whether tommy could SET the record, it's whether he actually HAD the records, which he does not.

Just like everything MA makes its overrated! Scottie had HK4000's before 40.1's so we got to test those both. 16 volts system with HK4000's draw around 300 amps each with max power at 3800 watts, then you have 40.1's that draw roughly 550 amps, but do 7,500-8,000 watts each.

So 4 HK4000's = 1200 amps and 4 IA40.1's = 2140 amps, your talking **** near twice the draw with the 40.1's, he simple didn't have enough electrical to make it a go! I've got any amount of money in the world that says with the right coils and 2 40.1's against 4 HK4000's would have been close.

Understandable. Though neither of us know what kind of electrical system the person I talked with had. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I wish I remembered his name or the team name. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

It's no secret that 20.1's and 40.1's like a lot of current, that is how you make power afterall.

300 amp draw is pretty weak for the HK as well, my zx2500 draws over 200 amps and it does 2300ish watts on a 12v system. We got quite a bit of power out of them with a 16v setup. Quite a bit over 3kw if I remember correctly, with close to the same draw.

But alas, we are getting off topic again. Though I'm not sure what the original poster had in mind for this thread anyways. One-on-one it's really no contest.

FYI to the thread starter, scottie j knocked his 40.1 prices down to $699+shipping. Quite a steal.

Jared Horton! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif We is running I think 3 or 4 20.1's now!

But I agree 3600 vs 10,000 is not quite fair!

Scottie is dropping the bomb on 40.1's, I agree a steal!

May have been? Honestly I don't remember. Lets just say that I wasn't exactly sober at the time of the conversation. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

D*mn 4th street!

we will now say 2 40.1s vs maxximus (i thought that would be obvious since maxximus is just 2 goliaths sorry maybe i wasn't specific enough)
omg....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

just buy either/or and be done with it

I basically think that the maxximus is a decent amplifier, had the chance to audition a couple recently but found them to be a bit dry on material that wasnt digitized.i dont give a **** if it was 1,000 or 10,000 watts there is no forgiveness for something that drops the ball on sonics when it has such a thin slice of the spectrum to reproduce.and for the price charged come on!its not really maxximum anything.maximum hype id say.

Anyone listened to music with incriminators and with maxxsonics products???i mean thats what an amplifier is supposed to do is amplify hopefully music...lol.

Those last couple of octaves...from 30 hz down.you know the ones that take all the power to reproduce? those ones???

No epicenter no nothing except the onboard electronics.

And i know these are products for competitors and who cares how they sound right???

At the end of the day i need the incriminator more Dependable and more affordable, with similar results...And Tons better sonically!!!
