throwin' hunnits, hunnits
Hey everyone. I have a '98 Dodge Dakota that is my daily driver, and I have a few things done to it:
-Clarion FB275BT receiver
-Pioneer TS-A1702C components
-Infinity Reference 7521a amplifier (97 watts x 2)
-Two 12" Infinity Reference 1250w subwoofers (300 watts RMS)
-4 Gauge Amplifier Wiring Kit
Oh, and running off a Valucraft battery. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
Now I know my receiver and components ****, but that's not what I'm worried about at the moment.
The amplifier and subwoofers came out of a '95 Lincoln Mark VIII that my father bought used in '08. He sold it, and I proceeded to replace my 8" Bazooka tube with some real speakers. However the amp isn't producing one third of the power that the subs can handle. So I'm looking at buying a Hifonics BXi1210D. With 900 watts @ 2 ohms/2 speakers, that seems like a perfect match for my subs. A little overpowered, but I'll not get carried away. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
The subs are not being replaced, because they have a less deep mounting depth than most subs. I have a Regular Cab and I'm 6'6", so I need all the space I can get.
About my crappy receiver and components...I'll buy an amp for the comps when I can find space for another amp in my RC...I'll replace the comps when I get an amp for the new set of comps...and I'll replace the receiver when I need a second set of preamp outputs for the amplifier that will power the components. Shit, that is going to take forever...
Sorry for the long post, what do you guys think?
