Im right there with you but sometimes I still do dumb ****im hardly a noob, im 30 yeaars old and have had systems since i was in high school, from old series rf amps, phoenix gold, ppi, alpine v12's, run diamond components, idsubs, u name it
what do you mean "amps backed down"??? L7's are not crap subs... their not my favorite, just cuz of their price point, and what you get for the price.. but by no means are they crap subs... and there is no way you should be blowing them with that much power.... not even running them for a couple hours. one sub blows, i say its possible you got a bad sub... 2 blow at different times, i say your clipping them with inproper tuningive also had the amps backed down a little bit, its more or less due to the fact when i get in the car i usually beat the crap out of the subs for a good hour or more straight, the coils just unseat and burn up cuz the kickers cant handle being run for one or more hours continuous day in and day out
To 4 L7s so they are already a bit under poweredhes running 2 alpine amps at 1300 watts rms each
did you set your amp with the sub level on your HU up? cuz that will cause the clipping point on most amps to dropi set my amp by finding the clipping point and turning the gain down slightly from that, giving me my max gain level. i then turned the gain down a little bit more so that i wouldnt have this problem. my head unit is set at 25/35, bass at o, and sub level at 5/15
Who told you that? Rated power doesnt change by box size, It just takes less power to get loud in large boxes in SOME cases.an L7 handles 750 at 1 cube sealed, 600 at 2.25 cubes sealed, or 600 in any ported box, i was running them at 1.5 cubes sealed at about 650 rms, which at 1.5 i imagine the handle around 675
in the manuals when u buy new, they put all of those specs in there. but L7s will still hold a good bit more than 750 in almost any enclosureWho told you that? Rated power doesnt change by box size, It just takes less power to get loud in large boxes in SOME cases.
