whats the difference between the skarrs and american bass to like alpine, re, fi?

They're all pretty comparable. Kicker isn't anything special. Alpine X is good but overpriced, type R is solid if you insist on buying from brick and mortar store (best bet for retail price). Sundown SA 12's sound very nice for the money. Twisted420 on this forum has some great 12's FS for a very very fair price.

Stick to the factory direct brands , you cut out a lot of overhead/middleman cost and get a lot more performance for your money generally.

okay so im probably gonna get the alpine x's there better than the r's correct? How does alpine compare in sound quality to the re, fi, sundowns etc? I appreciate ur help!

I currently have an RE sx 12 D2, its a great sub in all honesty. i picked it up for a good price, and its treated me well to this day. its an 07 SX, the good one. I kill my buddies type x all day.. go with RE, Audioques are great, FI, DD, SSA icon series. maybe diamond.. but mainstream brands avoid

by mainstream you mean...pioneer, alpine, kicker etc? why avoid them? Im looking for a sub(s) that are around 1k rms each.

Q or BL. more sound quality with the Q, more output with the BL. 1k rms rating but both can take more but don't NEED more. I'm about to rebuild a box for a friend's 12" Q running with 1500 watts right now.

all depends what product did you buy. havent messed with FI, but i have heard they are great too. anything mainstream youll be lucky to handle 1krms, unlesss your going L7 or TYpe x, which for the money theres better.

Kicker and Rockford make soild amps. They are on the expensive side, IMO i think they are worth it.

As for subs, if you want loud bass that sounds better from a mile away then it does indide the car get something from kicker(Except for the CVX(round L7), i like those) but not enough to run them. Rockford is a good looking peice of plastic, stay away. I ran a couple alpine Type rs for a few weeks, not bad for $120 each. I like the Type X but only having 1 will disipoint you in the output department.

You do know that going to a high powered sub like this you will need to build or pay out the @%$ for a box. you cant just put one of these subs in a box for best buys floor, they will sound like doo doo

oh i know, im looking for subs that have a loud crisp bass, unlike a rattling kinda bass? yes id like to hear it outside my truck but thats not a priority just the clean crisp bass.

A big sub is going to make stuff rattle, thats where you need to add sound deadner into your budget. There is more to building a system then just buying a sub and amp

true, well i just dont like the way my l7 sounds it like bottoms out when its turned up and hits the high notes.
