I have a AIWA CDC-X227 head unit, Jensen JXP 460 amp, 12' Sony sub and (4)Polk Audio DB570 speakers in my 99 Mustang. My question is, is it possible to have the lows come out just from my sub. Right now the speakers are playing the lows and it doesent sound right. I do not know much about these things so I am asking you guys what I need to do to have the highs and mids come from the speakers and the lows from the sub. If that is even possible with what I have and if so how to do it and if not what i need to replace. Thanks a lot for the help!

I was being semi sarcastic but, sony and jensen aren't known for making the best product.

If you really want more lows, yes I would get a new sub.

But, to fix your problem, set your crossover right (pending you have one on your HU)

Actually that Jensen amp isn't all that bad. I own one (2002 edition). The noise floor isn't the greatest and it's the ugliest amp I've ever seen (All blue and purple), but it's never failed me or given me problems. It's also does **** near rated power.

Just an FYI: The low pass crossover on that Jensen amp is kind of strange since it uses two knobs. You must set both to what frequency you want for the full effect to take place. Otherwise it just low passes one channel. If you bridge it and set one to 40hz and the other to 80hz, it will start dropping at 40hz for about 3dB (half the output), then stay flat to 80hz before dropping again. See the attachment. It can.. *ahem* useful.. since no other amp does this..

Ok i bought the bassstoppers. They help a lot but the problem is now that my HU has an option for H-BASS. When this is on it creates really good bass from my sub but it distorts the sound from the speakers and when the function is off the speakers sound great but there isnt much bass. Im confused about the crossover you guy are talking about. On my amp there are 4 knobs: Level, R-CHX, L-CHX, Bass. Also there is a switch with the three options of: HPF, Full, LPF. I dont really know what any of them do or what to set them too. THANKS!

Lol. In my defence when I got the car it already had it in it. I faced the decision of spend a grand and get a really good system or save the money and keep the ok system. I opted to keep the money as you can tell. Ha
