Help wiring 2 Alpine type R 12 Inch

You got a great deal, recently sold mine with NO box for 230$.
I would recommend a Rockford Fosgate 1500bd, Hifonics BRZ1700, SAZ1500.
Well those are 3 very different amps... >.

Or he could get an apsm1500 for half the price //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Assuming he doesn't want to have to spend a bunch of money on an extra battery, I would avoid the inefficient apsm1500. It makes power, and that's cool, but it pulls a ton of current to do it.

Also, to the OP. Depending on what amp you get, you might have to return that wire. If you're getting around a 1000w amp, the 4 gauge is fine. If you do end up getting a 1500w amp, the 4 gauge might not be up to par. Unless it is top notch OFC 4 gauge. Just something to think about.

Wow diagram looks pretty confusing....
Where would i get wire to wire all this?

Sorry i am a real noob to this.
The diagrams will make more sense at first if you can take the subs out of the box and wire them up a few times for practice and what not. Those R's have real nice wire hook-ups.

The subs should have come with some short connector wires for wiring the voice coils on each sub. Then you can just use speaker wire, 12 gauge should fit the inputs, if you have some or else i'm sure you could find some on here for sale or on Ebay.

Ipulled one of the subs and it didnt have that short wire on there to wire that hooks up the voice coil.

just had a wire to hook up to the box.....

right on man, thats kinda unfortunate but not too big of a deal, you will just have to use speaker wire to do it all.

Just wire the two terminals in the middle together, should be a + from on coil, and a - from the other with a little piece of speaker wire. Do this on both subs, and then run the remaining open terminals (should be just the outer terminals on each sub, one + and one - on each sub) between the subs in parallel + to + and - to - then to the amp + and -, respectively.

I'm not the best at explaining this stuff over the web so I'm sorry if this doesn't make any sense. Hopefully one of the more advanced members will chime in.

Do you have a DMM? jw

I think he means that, that amp makes the most power at 1 ohm, and with the subs you have you can't wire down to 1 ohm. So you wouldn't be utalizing the amp to 100% of it's capabilities. 1000wrms at 2ohms to those R's will get em bumpin though.

@DCtC correct me if you were talking about something else.
