I doubt that amp does rated. You wont be giving them much power at all. Its not going to hurt them if you set it right but if your going to get a amp get one that works.

You did indeed get the wrong amp. I'd be surprised if they see 800w out of that thing. Which is fine as long as you're okay with it. But if you had a budget in mind, maybe we could help you find something better. Since they are D2 subs, you'll want to find an amp that puts out the power you want, at 2 ohms, which makes everything a lot more expensive. Well, you're really not gonna find more power at 2 ohms, for a price you like. But I've found some amps that will make some good power at 2 ohms for a bit bigger budget: fs: Kicker zx1500 - Car Audio Classifieds
Assuming he doesn't want to have to spend a bunch of money on an extra battery, I would avoid the inefficient apsm1500. It makes power, and that's cool, but it pulls a ton of current to do it.
