Im fairly new to installing car audio.
I've been wanting to put a sub in my car for some time now and my mate sold me his brand new sub, enclosure and amp the other day really cheap.
I got a JBL Gt4 12 inch 1000 watt sub in an enclosure and a Power Acoustik 4 X 150Watt amp. My mate took the liberty of mounting the amp on the inside of the back of the box and bridging 2 channels and connecting the sub to the amp.
My questions would be:
1) Is this amp any good? i've never heard of this brand before and they don't have the manual on their website.
2) Is it a smart idea to have the amp mounted inside the sub enclosure like this? does it affect the sound? will this tend to cause the amp to overheat easily? do you think i could get away with leaving it like this?
3) The amp is rated at 2 ohms per channel (i think, i dnt have the manual), and the sub is at 4ohms, so the bridged channel should be rated at 4ohms at 300watts? which would be correct for the sub?
Thanks a lot for your help
