help me tune my jl 1000/1v2 amp please

yes sir at 30 out of 50 volume and i have my lpf from 0-8 on my hu on 8 idk if thats right tho

Sub out at max is where it should be.

Where did your gain end up at for 55V?

ok on my hu the sub setting lpf level 0-8 the bass is very low at 0 and at 8 is loud where should i set that at when i set the gains??

so leave it on 8 its a settin on the headunit and what do u mean where did my gain end up? i got it at 55 on low input voltage but im gonna try it on high now

If you consider fully counter-clockwise "0" and fully clockwise "10", where in that range of motion on the gain dial did you stop when the meter read 55 volts?

I'm guessing closer to "0".

ok i just set the gains at high voltage the gain nob is like 90% at low voltage it was like 40% so what do u guys think??

High is fine. (If you are at your target voltage)

yea i am but i can be at the target voltage on low too so i dont understand that but what would sound better the low with the gain low or the high with the gain high?

Theoretically they should both sound identical if they are both set to the same voltage.

However the potential to "overdrive" the amp's input and induce clipping should be less with the amp set to "high".

heres an idea sell it since you dont take advice... your questions have been answered already..listen to what you have been told

Leave it at high, or blow your sub. You've been told this by everyone here, multiple times. What more do you want? LEAVE IT AT HIGH. LEAVE it at HIGH. Leave the input voltage, set to high. Leave it at high. Keep the input setting at high. Leave it at high. Your amplifier input setting needs to be on high, to properly match your headunit's output voltage. Leave it at high.

Yes it will be quieter, and that's ok. That means you aren't over-powering or burning up your equipment. Leave it at high input. Set the gains properly, with it set on high-input. If you want to do anything else, do it, but please don't ask again. You have a $600 woofer, and you've been instructed how to tune it properly so that it is getting the optimal amount of power, and a clean signal, for maximum lifetime. Leave it set to high. If it is not loud enough, there are many other woofers, for cheaper, that will fulfill and surpass your needs.
