When I bought my car, I guess somebody decided that the cheapest bostons you could find would work well for all four speakers and keep the stock Bose tweaters on a 10 year old kenwood deck. Let's just say it sounds interesting to say the least.
My current setup isn't anything to brag about either, but I'm trying to figure out what speakers would work well for my setup (I just need the four main speakers and tweaters).
I'm currently running the following :
Sony Xplode CDX-F5710 head unit (Getting replaced by Alpine hopefully soon)
Rockford Punch 500x (62.5x4 RMS @ 4ohm)
Monster RCAs (Unsure of model, old RCAs with rebuildable ends and grounding straps)
Stinger 16ga HPM series wire run directly to the speakers
Pretty much I am running everything so I can upgrade the Amp and headunit later and never have to touch the wiring again. Obviously not the worlds greatest setup, but it's better than an old deck being run by walmart speakers.
I've been looking through threads and it seems that alot of people here are partial to rainbow speakers. I'm wondering if this brand would be a good choice for my 95 Integra running this setup currently or if anybody else had suggestions? I'm not looking for loud, I'm looking for a clear sound with some smooth bass. I need all four speakers (including tweaters, so six speakers), replaced. I'd like to spend maybe around $400. I would like to keep them all the stock size which is 6.5s all around.
What would you guys have in mind?
