Help installing 6.5" in Ford Explorer

Okay, so I am looking to install some 6.5" woofers in my 1999 Ford Explorer, which has 5x7/6x8 holes in the front doors. I would roughly estimate the maximum mounting depth at about 2.5". There is a metal thing that holds the window pane in the door right behind where the speaker mounts (go figure). Anyway, I would like to see how other people have mounted 6.5" speakers in their Ford Explorers front doors.

What I would LOVE to do is mount my CDT ES-06+'s in my front doors, but the mounting depth is 3.37" Anyway, any help would be appreciated!
