Help Getting my Brother a Nice Setup!

My brother is looking for a sub + amp combination package for his Jetta. He was looking on SonicElectronics and didn't know what exactly to get. He's fine with any 10 or 12 inch, preferrably coming with an amp and even a box as well. He's looking to spend no more than $300. 500watt minimum. Show me some links and I'll show you some "Thanks"!.

Does he want sealed or ported? If ported, can you make a custom box?

He doesnt want to make his own box, but either sealed or ported would be fine. if the combo doesnt come with a box he said he'll buy one online.

On a $300 budget I would say check craigslist to see what is for sale locally.

**edit** I just looked through your craigslist for that area and there are few things that fall into his price range and would work just fine for what little he is wanting.

It is hard to compare new to used prices. He can get much more from just buying locally then he would buying new. I'm sure he does not want much since his budget is small, but might as well get the most out of what you can.

I'm not saying don't buy new, just that he would get a lot less then buying used in this case.
