It depends on ya color code of your h.u. Usually you hook up the red wire to the battery and the yellow wire to memory.

as said above, check the color codes, but if your deck is sony pioneer kenwood panasonic jvc etc. the color of the memory wire is yellow, it goes to a constant power source.....directly to the battery, there will be a wire in the dash for this, and the red goes to a switched power source not the battery as stated above
