they are louder tuned there, but sound like garbage. peaky as hell when tuned that high.

looking at the new parameters they got alot of stuff fucked up..

id do 6.5 tuned to 35 with 80in^2 of port area..

I say run an abc box,

2.6ft first chamber, 1.3 second chamber.

45'' of port big chamber tuned to 30hz and second tuned to 42hz

You can build a new enclosure. 5.5 is far to small for that 18. Minimum I have ever used was 6ft3, but in honesty they like even larger then that.

It is hard to base anything audio related off of other's builds.

Naw, I posted what needed to be posted. Everyone is allowed to have their own opinions. The OP has been given info and can do what ever he likes with it.

Post up the specs to your enclosure. HxWxD(list any double panels, 45s, or bracing used) also post up your port h x w and the length so we can get an idea on your enclosure to better assist you.

Your output dropping off dramatically below tuning is pretty standard. As others have said, a larger box, lower tuning, and experimenting with different positions or firing sub and or port in different directions often makes more of a difference than anything.

I'd say 6-6.5 tuned to 32-33 with 100 square inches of port.
