Copper will be fine. Their underrated like a bish. They'll take a good 2K of clean bass.

Yeah, anything under a CLEAN 2kw each, you could probably do copper and be fine. However, when you pay for the aluminum upgrade, you're also paying for the sub to be hand built in America using American parts (built on the same assembly line as DD's).

I always thought that 2 10's was pretty close to equal the amount of cone area as 1 15.

OP I ran 5k to dual 2 copper coil AQ 10's and they did just fine. I prefer dual 2's to get a .5ohm load from my amp. More amps on the market will take a .5ohm load than a .25ohm load.

Yes dual 1's will give you a one ohm load.

So im going to go with hdc3's.
no doubt about it.

but i have sooo many questions.

should i get the aluminum coils, or will the copper coils work fine? im never going to compete, but i WILL show off. so consider that. i wanna be able to super bang with no fears.

should i get 1 15? or 2 tens? i have a true trunk setup. so i have limited space to give it the box it needs if i go with the 15.

i think im going to go with 2 tens, copper coils, in d2. that way i can have more cone area and more port area. i can fit 2 tens easily, and give them a box they can actually breathe in.

amp to run them is still a question.

if you can fit a 15 in the trunk then you can fit 2 12's which would offer the most cone area.

Something like 4cubes @ 38Hz with 64^2 of port area would do well with 1500-2k per sub on the copper coils...

If you could fit 1 15 you could probably fit 2 12"s. And if you want to be really loud with those get 2 D1's and run them off of a AQ3500D.

i like my copper hdc3's just fine, and i came from a 9518g. they never even get stinky off a memphis 4k @ 1 ohm.
