I didnt mean literally buying guns just like a can of soda. Honestly guns are available on the street and easily obtainable. I think the fact is here that being denied the right to take a gun with you on a school campus you pretty much have had taken away a form of self defense. When you are denied something its called control, ie. gun control. Icetee is right though that why the government orgionally gave us the right to bear arms, we didnt want it like England in which was one of the reasons we left. I too think we need guns to defend ourselves against our peers and possibly invasion of another country (which I doubt that would happen, but if it did what could we do about it?

i would not go to a school where people in their early 20's were carrying guns. males in the early 20's are jealous creatures and would shoot people to inflate their penis cause they saw some dude look at his girl, and *****es would shoot each other cause that is just what they do. ex's would kill each other, and frat boys would kill for more beer, the carnage would be un****ing believable.

thats a good point

I still think though if you knew someone else was packing you would be less likley to try to rob them, **** them, carjack them, pull your gun on them etc

but look at the people you are arming. that isn't a good enough reason to arm immature people.

i've been on the university of michigan campus, which is 40,000 students, and did not see a single campus security person.

i'm not advocating banning guns. try to make it where responsible people get guns.

you notice though, how all these massacres take place in middle to upper class areas and not inner cities where all the illegal guns are at?

hell no. i am all for keeping my guns, but if there are gun laws i think they should be enforced throughly before trying to make them more strict.

The parents would say that had their child been able to conceal and carry a weapon the only death would have been the shooter's.
Gun Control has 3 main problems:

1. Outlawing guns results in only criminals owning guns. These are people that obviously have no problem with breaking the law to obtain their weapon in the first place, whats to stop them from using their illegal weapon?

2. Legaly purchased firearms account for a small fraction of shooting related injurys, deaths, and accidents. Illegally obtained weapons far outnumber the legal weapon related incidents.

3. Owning a gun for protection is like a country with nuclear weapons. You will not use it unless you have to, and everyone else, even those with nuclear weapons themselves will go out of their way to avoid using them in fear of the consequences.

no way you are gonna keep a campus of 20 year olds alcohol free

but then again if you are putting millions of dollars in security systems and personell to protect, you wont have many students at the college. it would be like paying for a harvard education to get a community college degree. haha
