gun control?

If he had phys problems and was questioned buy police how did he get the gun? If there were some restrictions he wouldnt have gotten it!! We can debate this all day. But things will never change. I've seen a man standing five feet from me get shot and murdered. Its not funny its not a game.
no you havent.

through gun control laws, not every state can you just walk in and buy a gun, and even the states you can its even harder to get a concealed weapons permit
i would hope you cannot just walk in and buy a gun. my point is to sell guns to responsible people. you shouldn't be able to just buy a gun like a bag of chips. that's ridiculous

actually they are not totally off base there. the whole fundamental belief in the right to bear arms is for the american citizen to protect themselves from the government. so if there was ever a tyrant in power who tried to take over the citizens would have arms and could form miltia's to defend the people. you take guns away from the people and the government can do whatever they want. stalin and the ussr is a great example.
exactly, OUR amendments to the bill of rights says that, but it is unexcusable to blame "gun control" as the root of histories genocides. Like the Jews would have had a chance of fighting off all of Germany during the holocaust. The same can be said about the Nanking Massacre.

Once Japan took the Chinese city, orders were to destory everyone in sight, reguarless of political or military affiliations.

It can be rationalized that guns could help the victoms, but not when in every case you're overgeneralizing and saying the government took away their guns (in every instance of genocide) so they couldn't protect themselves.

This right here^^^^^^ is a good thing. I wish there was more gun control that would eliminate the idiots.

if the US military decided to take over this country there is no way the local militia's will be able to do anything. back when the constitution was written, it was basically so the government couldn't come in and take your property. in the modern era i think it has taken on a new role to defend yourself against other peers and not the government

Yup, I know the history of the 2nd //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

Literal interpretation of a vauge statement is at fault. It's like the friggin bible.

How can they have a 7 day wait at a 2 day event, ours in charleston is big, over 30,000 guns, and millions of rounds of ammo, if you had the funds, you could walk in and buy all of it and leave that same day. But they will never be able to get guns off the street, thats one reason why they will never be outlawed.

my plan should be is where you need some sort of liscense to purchase the gun. you have to pass a safety test, psych test, and nationwide background check. then they give you a liscense to take to a dealer and you buy your gun. they'll have to do something to make sure people can't make fakes but it's a rough idea

I didnt mean literally buying guns just like a can of soda. Honestly guns are available on the street and easily obtainable. I think the fact is here that being denied the right to take a gun with you on a school campus you pretty much have had taken away a form of self defense. When you are denied something its called control, ie. gun control. Icetee is right though that why the government orgionally gave us the right to bear arms, we didnt want it like England in which was one of the reasons we left. I too think we need guns to defend ourselves against our peers and possibly invasion of another country, which I doubt that would happen, but if it did what could we do about it?
