This guy lived for 23 years. He brought a gun in march of 2007. May of 2007 33 dead. He WAS a law abiding citizen. That purchased a gun legally. Ask the parents of the murdered kids about restricing the sale of guns.

did you read my post? the kid was also questioned police before and was alerted to have physcological disorders. i wouldn't be opposed to have to pass a psycological test before you can purchase a weapon. even if guns were illegal, he could very easily buy one illegally. marijuana is illegal but you can still get it right?

you are an idiot. CRIMINALS will get guns no matter what. its not them you are restricting guns from. ITS THE LAW ABIDING CITIZENS you are penalizing and taking away from in these gun control laws.

if you read those descriptions, you would see that if a teacher or principle had a gun, they could have most likely stopped those attacks.

Its hard to keep track of an entire campus with 2 people, to have them be in the right place at the right time would be at best 1/1000 chance. I know this is a difficult subject for people to know wth to do with.

Fact is though, there is nothing stopping anyone from grabbing a rifle, heading down to whatever location they choose and going on a spree. Waiting for the SWAT team to show up 10-20 min later is also too late. The damage would already be done. Just like at VT.

If you're at school and this takes place, wth would you do other then run/hide & hope you're not found? if you're out gunned, you dont exactly have too many options. You get out of the line of fire, or you get hit.

The parents would say that had their child been able to conceal and carry a weapon the only death would have been the shooter's.

Gun Control has 3 main problems:

1. Outlawing guns results in only criminals owning guns. These are people that obviously have no problem with breaking the law to obtain their weapon in the first place, whats to stop them from using their illegal weapon?

2. Legaly purchased firearms account for a small fraction of shooting related injurys, deaths, and accidents. Illegally obtained weapons far outnumber the legal weapon related incidents.

3. Owning a gun for protection is like a country with nuclear weapons. You will not use it unless you have to, and everyone else, even those with nuclear weapons themselves will go out of their way to avoid using them in fear of the consequences.

If he had phys problems and was questioned buy police how did he get the gun? If there were some restrictions he wouldnt have gotten it!! We can debate this all day. But things will never change. I've seen a man standing five feet from me get shot and murdered. Its not funny its not a game.

so what are you saying we do? i lived in a rough city and the people carrying guns were carrying them illegally. i wouldn't be opposed to having pass a psycological examination before they get the gun. if a person with no criminal background, and an apparently healthy mental capacity wants to own a gun, it is their right to own one. if said person decides to blow away a bunch of people, you really can't do anything. they made the right to bear arms for a reason.

i'm guessing this is a pawn shop? guns can be had easily and gun control laws won't stop it

It however would be more cost effective to just allow those with CCW's to carry on campus. Even if it meant to get a CCW you'd have to get a complete psycological screening. So be it. That however would mean 0 alcohol to be on campus.

Its just hard to over 26,000 people with even 100 security guards. Not to mention the school wouldnt want to hire another 100 guards. Even then its 1 person to cover 260 which is still quite a task.

idk if i would want kids in their early 20's late teens carrying guns on campus. i mean kids get drunk, one dude looks at the other dude's chick and he gets his balls shot off. not a good idea imo.
