Group 31 AGM for $50?

I read a few reviews on this place and get a load of the second one in this picture... the guys seem to give OK reviews... the gals... well... LOL!

Ask about their warranty/return options if they offer any...and if you snag a battery or 2, just as others stated get them load tested right away. Don't wait. I say this because they may offer a 15 day return "warranty" or some sort. Or nothing at all. Need more info on it. It could be sold as is....who knows. Do let us know tho, either way.

Batteries that are bad can still rest above 12.6.

Make sure a carbon pile load tester is used. The fancy digital units estimate

Also, keep in mind you can scrap a group 31 for $10

Well... I picked it up... they had 9 AGM group 31's... tested load with analog device... 30 seconds later still at +11V... Then returned to resting voltage... I guess that's OK?... 12.5V resting voltage and 30 day Exchange... It's 5 miles away so that's cool... I had no core so it was $62... they wanted $65 total... We will see how it lasts, I hope it does... this is one monster 65 Lb AGM... I'm stoked!

I bought 7 90ah power ware batteries down in tampa called Square deal. They buy UPS batteries and test and or recondition them. They have a warranty on all their batteries and I paid $77 each OTD and they are still working great like 2 years later.

That's a good deal!... this was reconditioned also I think.. they kept saying "New"... but I think not... how many amp hours will I expect from a Group 31 AGM if it performs well?.. Thanks!

Big diff between new and reconditioned....they should know that.

It's like buying a sub or amp. New or refurb'd. The refurb is they prob fixed something but you get it like "new" because it comes with everything needed, at a cheaper price.

Here is a good close up of the ACTUAL battery... see the scratches and missing sticker?

yeah thats just like my battery got at advance and yeah it's a deal idk., u can get 1 on advance website for like 25% off and go pick it up mine was like $131 of course u would have to have a battery to exchange it it would be like $30 more..

I'd imagine at 50$ price point they're either stolen or just pulled out of a junk yard.... or possibly stolen from a junk yard.
Either way, if it works it works //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif

They probably got batteries with a similar situation to mine.

Big software companies have huge 12v battery backups for their servers. Each battery is monitored. When one battery in the bank has an ESR out of spec, the company replaces the bank according to policy. They would rather waste a bit of money and replace all the batteries than have the power go out with batteries that *might* not be able to handle the load until power gets turned back on.

My guess is they bought a bank near scrap price and are selling the good batteries

shredder, let us know how that battery works out for ya. Wish I could scoop one up for that price....I'm trying to find one for my s10, top mount.
Are you tryin' for a under hood battery for your S-10?... I managed to get 2 up front "Group 75's"... I just removed the factory air box and installed a cold air intake... "Ebay $18"... then I had room for a second one on the drivers side...

It was really easy!... Remember... I'm disabled.

Cold air svcking all that hot air off the engine... not good. There is a reason the air intake is away from the engine
