good sub for tight space?

I have a 93 extended cab f-150 and want to put some subs under the rear bench.I have 6" of height so would a 12 fit there or should I go with 2 10's and which ones?I dont want to spend over $300 for subs ans will have over 1000 watts powering them.

I need a sub with a small mounting depth and sounds really good.I mainly listen to metal and will be powering it with a kicker kx1200.1.
