hmm, well I use pretty steep slopes so only reason I asked. and i doubt you know how to determine cabin gain...No, depends on a lot of factors. There is cabin gain, there is also slopes to consider, and a gap does not mean you will lose anything.
your a moron. you think that the drivers arent supposed to handle recommended power? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif this isnt audiobahn you know. i know from personal experience that if i start low and go up i end up exceeding recommended power anyways. this is a safer route, trust me.
ok would you care to explain? because i see no reason for them not to handle it. and im talking about using HALF the power i did b4...thats quite a big difference buddy. You are the one not understanding, just because a speakers is RATED at certain power does not mean in your particular setup it will be able to handle it.
You've already blown them once, so you need to learn to listen a little bit.
Whether I know how to or not is irrelevant, it's there.hmm, well I use pretty steep slopes so only reason I asked. and i doubt you know how to determine cabin gain...
ah ok, in my car i notice i get a huge peak at 4k, i have to eq the hell of out that band lol.Whether I know how to or not is irrelevant, it's there.
Using steep slopes you will likely notice the gap a lil more. I know in my car, with every single comp set I have had I've had some increase/gain at around 2k.
You're on the right path then, but still without the crossovers in there you don't need quite as much power. Just be careful is all.ok would you care to explain? because i see no reason for them not to handle it. and im talking about using HALF the power i did b4...thats quite a big difference buddy.

oh i know. im not risking going through this hell again. and ill probably go back to passive once i get the xovers back anyways. You're on the right path then, but still without the crossovers in there you don't need quite as much power. Just be careful is all.
I know this wasn't pointed towards me, but I figured with such a high highpass (3.5-4k+) you shouldn't have any problem blowing tweeters...guess the guy did cook a couple woofers though, should have known better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifYour logic is very flawed. ALWAYS start low and go up from there. Doing the opposite is asking for trouble.
I guess then you can come on the forums and cry again about ****ing your stuff up saying that it isn't your fault since you gave it recommended power. Have fun.
I just gave him those numbers as a starting point (mostly for tweeter protection). When I was running active usually a little bit of under lap between 3-4k worked well for me...Wouldnt that leave a big hole in your stage?
