going active with 2 channels?

im getting my CMX woofers and tweets back from rainbow finally and im not sure if the Xovers are in good enough condition to use. i was trying to find some new ones, but thets **** near impossible. anyways, i had stated that i ant go active b/c i dont have extra channels or the needed processing. but i just remembered that my PG xenon does 200w/channel from 1-4Ohm. and im pretty sure each woof and each tweet are 4ohm. so would it be possible to go active by wiring them in parallel? i would imagine id need some kind of external processing cause i obviously cant use the amp's or deck processing. could this work?

No its not going to work. You need four channels for four speakers.

And an active x-over that is up to the task.

Trade me...haha...you can run one four channel to your tweets and rear fill and the other bridged to your mids...you have a PM btw...

I got an MTX Thunder 502 2ch. amp I could sell you for $75 shipped and I also got some rainbow germanium crossovers I won't need in a few days, I'm not sure how well they'd work for the cmx's though.

I think if you wired them in parallel you would be sending the wrong frequency to either the mids or the tweets and it'll most likely sound horrible.

Just a cheapy inline filter? If you give it a descent amount of power those will probably fry but I'm not certain.

Because the only way to go active with a 2-channel amplifier is to run both mids on one channel and both tweeters on the other channel.

The speakers on both sides of the car would be playing identical signals.

I.E. you would not have stereo sound.

think of it this way, you need one amp channel per speaker.
