GM RVC need help

Recently installed a sundown x6.5 on a sfb 1000 in my brothers Buick Lucerne. It was working great for about 2 months beating hard and I had the gain set fine but couldn’t get my brother to understand not to turn the head unit up to get more power out of the amp and he said whatever so now all it does is make a humming noise with output through the amp even without rcas plugged in. The subs cone like slowly gets sucked in to the motor while this happens too. I don’t know if it has something to do with gms regulated voltage control and having a lot of fluctuation in voltage to the amp? I thought it would be fine just a 4ohm load like 500 watts shouldn’t be enough to cause something like this?
