Fuse

Well, I have a 60 amp fuse in my truck - but that blew 20 minutes down the road. Then I went back to the install shop, and they installed a 100 amp fuse and that was good for like a month.

Yesterday, I'm driving down the road and my subs just stopped. Then they came back 10 seconds later. 10 minutes after that, they stopped completely and havent came back on since.

My amp light is on, and doesnt seem to be in protect mode. All of my connections seem fine, so I believe I blew my fuse once more. Should I just go back to the install place and get another 100 amp fuse - or get a bigger fuse or what? I never want to have to replace this **** fuse again.

4g for almost 2400 watts? I'm going to go with Elton and Ultimate on this one and say possible bad ground, and I'm going to throw in too small power wire as a possibility as well.

Hook up a DMM to the amp and slowly turn the volume up with the engine running at idle. As the volume goes up, I'll bet your voltage is dropping below (possibly way below) 12-14 volts.

the power wire is not causing the fuse to blow cause its too small.....

A. i dont think you can hook up two rsd 12's and get a 1ohm load... check the wires... those are svc 4ohm subs if i remember correctly... check the grounds as well... Are there any internal or external fuses on the amp? i cant seem to find any info on what kinda fusing it needs.... i would guess 60 is too low and 100 is closer but i would just get a 140-150 circuit breaker and closely monitor the situation

Yes, the power wire is too small ... the amp does 1800w @ 1 ohm, and 4 gauge is good for 1500w. His fuse is too small, even for 4 gauge .. should be up to 140A.

The subs are D4, and you can wire D4's to 1 ohm.

Upgrade your wire to 2 gauge and use the correct size fuse for the wire.
