fuse holder smelling REAL bad

fuses blow with too much power. can a dmm read current draw? idk, but if it can hook it up and see what it looks like.

Ya thats what i figured if the fuse couldnt handle it it would blow. But the fuse is still giving me problems. My amp will go into protect and then just shut off. So i could go back and wiggle the wire in the fuse it would spark then turn back on. Then did the same problem again. So then I just ran the wire to the amp with no fuse and it works fine. So i know it has to do with something in the fuse or fuse holder

what kind of fuse holder do you have? if you wiggle the wire, and it sparks it's too loose. thats your problem

i would up the fuse size to 200.

Throw the proper size fuse in there and be done with it before your car burns up.

why would it get hot rather than blow if it's trying to pull more power? hot usually means bad connections.

the fuse may be too small, but i don't think thats why it gets hot.
