For all you car owners with LOUD exhausts...

It's easier to control the revs on a manual, but the transmission isn't what makes the exhaust loud //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I have a set of Flowmasters on my Buick, and I love it. I absolutely HATE the high pitched "ricer" tips, they are annoying as hell, just used to make slow cars sound fast.
But my Flows are deep as hell, inside the car is not nearly as loud as the outside. I can set off some car alarms just with my exhaust... But if I have my stereo up and windows up then you can barely hear the exhaust.
What type of exaust you got? I have a Saturn SC2, and I want an exaust //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

how come standard cars sound louder with exhausts than automatic?

I've never noticed that...my dad's truck has the exact same engine in it as mine, and unless he's purposely revving it high, they sound the same. I could get the same sound if I revved my automatic higher, but there's no point...if anything, his is quieter because of a rebuilt engine whereas I'm on the original...

I've got a 2000 mustang gt 5 speed with bbk x-pipe and dynomax ultra flow catback. Its freekin loud as hell. It set me back $850. Its very annoying @ 70 mph but I like it. Wouldnt trade it for anything. And most of all its very different...cause of the fact that everyone has flowmasters and they sound nothing like flows.

they don't..... this is a totally uneducated.....or better said unexperienced statement. they might sound a little better but not louder. it's always funny hearing a civic auto flooring it with a LOUD *** exhaust, the shifts are so weak sauce lol.

so is that what makes the diffrence...weak shifting in autos?

Its not weak shifts, its just short shifts, there is no real sudden drop in rpm, its all smooth. Whereas on a standard, you can hear the car disengage, then engage the clutch.
Auto-VrooommmmmVroooommmm

Standard-Vrooom shift vrooom
yea yea got it...so overall the car with standard transmision will sound better with exhaust
