For all you car owners with LOUD exhausts...

Its not weak shifts, its just short shifts, there is no real sudden drop in rpm, its all smooth. Whereas on a standard, you can hear the car disengage, then engage the clutch.
Auto-VrooommmmmVroooommmm

Standard-Vrooom shift vrooom
no. if it is the same car same engine, it will sound the same.
the transmission has nothing to do with how it sounds, at all.
i find this just a little bit contradicting. i thought automatics have a smoother drop in rpm which means smoother drop in the sound of the exhaust where as in a manual there is a distinct/sharp drop in the sound of the exhaust when shifting up, even if it is the same engine.

please clarify.

exhaust just makes it obvious they have manual, nothing more.....they have to rev a lil while easing off the clutch and every time they shift....well yea. havent you heard a stupid automatic 4banger with exhaust floor it? when it shifts it just sounds so weak cuz the transition is so smooth. but regardless the ****** really doesn't have that much to do with any of it. i know someone with a 350z AUTO with full exhaust, headers, everything, and you wouldn't really know the diff (nor care). you just gotta hear a car start from a stop or shift to really tell......but sh!t does it matter!?!

the transmission only effects sound during shifts, and its only difference is between a smooth shift, where the sound barely fluctuates,or a sudden drop in rpms, and then continueing.

while driving, the ****** has no effect on sound, only when it shifts does it effect sound.

ok think of it this way. the automatic is like farting after you eat mexican food. the manual is like farting after you eat chinese. get it?
