I have a 1997 Chevy Z71 w/ the Vortec 5.7. In terms of exhaust, no cats, no mufflers, just pipe. The thing is loud as shit. Sounds good for a while, then gets really annoying. Especially when towing the boat.

i love listening to my pipes...

v-force muffler to two 3" pipes..out to two 4" tips, 16" long...

very throaty and deep...

also, i love when i lift the gas after getting to about 70...the release of back pressure and the resulting "burble" is just way to sweet!

i could do that all day!

Ricers with their extra large exhaust tips annoy me, and I only have to listen to it for a minute at most! I guess they rationalize it by going "OMG MAN, I CAN"T HEAR YOU, BUT CAN YOU HEAR THAT ****ING HORSEPOWER !?".

I have a set of Flowmasters on my Buick, and I love it. I absolutely HATE the high pitched "ricer" tips, they are annoying as hell, just used to make slow cars sound fast.

But my Flows are deep as hell, inside the car is not nearly as loud as the outside. I can set off some car alarms just with my exhaust... But if I have my stereo up and windows up then you can barely hear the exhaust.

i love the exhausts that have a nice whistle to it in the back that you can barely hear. some of the audi's have em.

BTW:

When you hear a whistle from an exhaust or engine, it is because the car is supercharged.
