First subs you ever owned and car!

lots of you had nice cars and equipment... my first vehicle was a early 80's cougar witch at the time was feeling like the shit... lol... threw gold ones on it... and had woofers in the back cant remember the name but they had like 300w and some 6x9's in the rear deck... also went to radio shack to get resisters for my stock whatever size speakers in the front to remove the bass.. man those were the days... first decent subs were fosgates from the early 90's

First car was a dark green 95 Toyota Tercel. It was so cheap it did not even have carpet in the trunk. First setup was some cheap Pioneer 4's in the doors. When I replaced these the dustcap had been broken bythe voice coil. A couple of Wal Mart Pioneer 6x9's in the rear deck that actually sounded decent. Sub was some cheap 10" Pioneer from Best Buy in a prefab bandpass box and a "300 watt" Jensen amp. The brain of this operation was a Pioneer deck also from Wal Mart. It served its purpose.

First decent setup about 5 years later was a decent Pioneer deck, two Kicker 4's up front and Phoenix Gold 6x9's in the back with two Diamond CM3's connected to an Autotek SX1200X.

The way I see it, with that system I had nowhere to go but UP..

Car:

1992 Toyota Camry

System:

2 10" MTX 4000's in a sealed enclosure

Audibahn A8000T amp

Infinity 6.5" Reference mids

Panasonic C700(i think) HU

Got it all for $100 bucks, HU was a gift

I sold the audiobahn immediately and bought a performance teknique off a friend.

2000 Ford focus

and my first system was that audiobahn and bandpass combo they sold on egay w/ a pyramid 1000 watt amp...WOOt! I thought it was the shit at the time...

I soon got rid of both the car and the "system"

Umm....I think this was merely a lateral move, fella //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Damn...so many of us with shit systems, glad those days are over with.
Yup.

However, when I think back, I really enjoyed that Super II box I had. I remember thinking I had Teh JAMZ with those down-firing passive radiators. The house speakers I had at the time (4- speakers ~ (2) Klipsch KG-4 shorts and (2) Klipsch Tangent T-40 towers) also used a passive radiator and they sounded freggin' outstanding. I figured if it was good enough for those boys in Arkansas it had to be good enough for my car, too. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
