Finally....My new install build

thanx...

I had my hands full with these pods....

there was just no room..it is a tight fit...fortunatly

the pods do not stick out far enough to interfear

with my leg room...a definate plus

That's exactly my concern with door pods in my GTI... I would like to get the mids 30deg (or less) off-axis, but I don't want to have to cross my legs to drive. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I use an air powered Die Grinder to knock down the bumps

and high spots..it eats thru it like it is butter

I had to customize the handle to open the door and the

handle to roll the window down..

a little resin in a few low spots...a little bondo and a sanding

and it will be ready for the spray

I am guite happy with the fit...it should make a good sounding front stage.. there should be enough airspace to produce decent mid bass

it's starting to look the way I want...I scuffed the top of the one pod...

I'll touch it up tomorrow after work and finish the other one...

I think one more coat of box liner will do it..I was going to paint it grey

after the liner cured but I kind of like the black...

I'll leave it black for a while and see how it goes

those mids look sick in there //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

one set of tweeters will go in the tops of the doors with

the wave guides and another set of tweeters will be

going into the front pillars..I may have to do some glassing

in the pillars for the tweeters...that will come next

then I have to mount the X-overs....I found a really

unique place for them...

I'll have more pics coming

Thumpper, keep the capacitors. To AudioBahn on #2, to AudioExtreme on #6 and to BoomnBlzr on #8, you do know the purpose of the capacitor right ? It's to store an electrical charge, so when the power thirsty amps need to hit that deep bass note the electrical power is there. Say he upgrades the alternator and the battery and doesn't use the capacitors like you suggested Boomn. Guess what, not only will it cost a hec of a lot more money to do that, but in the end it'll wear the alternator and the new battery down, that's why one should use capacitors, so the electrical system doesn't wear down as fast.

I hit the electrical system with a double whammy

I got the 250 amp Iraggi alt and the cap with the wiring to

back both of them up....not gonna be a problem...

some people think a cap is a waste...just like some beleive

in sub sonic filters..I dissagree with both

I hope to have the other door,x-overs and tweeters done soon
