finally installed my custom built prototype mids and tweeters!

Yea. They are so nice i was afraid to damage them. LolGood news is they arent extremely expensive. They are right around tge price you would pay for a midlevel midbass from a popular company. The active set is ruffly 400 bucks for the two mids and tweeters. The crossovers on the otherhand are costly. For two passive units your looking at another 225 bucks but they use highend parts..
To have a good front stage it does take some $$$ but I'm not worried about the cost/ more so the quality I listen to alot of metal/blues/jazz/ progressive type stuff with the exception of decaf/got160s etc for my bass heavy side. So something that could put me right the in the front row is worth the $ to me.

yea. im that same way. i love rap because of the banging beats and some is god but i love plenty of other music.

I want it to sound realistic. like i am hearing it in person. i LOVE low frequency bass instruments an drums as well as bass guitar.

one thing i know for a fact is that the very stiff fiber based cones have breakup. every cone does so to control it im going to try several coatings on the cone to avoid any break i can. they sound great but i couldn't go without at-least experimenting with coating them.

Killer part is i work and use my on monies to do the R and D so it takes longer.

the cermaic domes are pretty awesome ESP if you love the airy and LOUD..

Good front stage speakers can be under $200. But to get realism it cost more. Treatments, a DSP is a must, and hours of tuning with a RTA and playing track after track.

You will never have a good front stage without a DSP. It's more then T/A and a mono EQ. You have to match each side of the cars response. But a DSP doesn't have to cost much. A mini DSP will do the job. Then it's all on the tuner.

Those that show up in the lanes that think higher priced gear matters go home with a big L. Those that know how to run go home with a W.
