how deep are your SLC's? How much room do oyu have left?

me? almost anothing, maybe an inch or two.I was thinking of making some kindof wood baffle that way I could mount it properly into the oem hole slots but then the grilles wouldnt fit properly. maybe if i used 1/4" wood... and recessed the speakers....

I just installed those in my truck today I had to build glass enclosures to make them fit under my door panel, they are a little odd shaped. 3.10" is the mounting depth and the outside diameter 7.25". I am interested to hear what they sound like just got burnt out installing everything.

I know, thats what I'm worried about. well see I guess, I hope they fit or major construction is coming. I just hate how they are 7.25". It is just overhang? Or the speaker itself is bigger than it should be?

They just have a very large lip, I was not overly excited when I saw that but it turned out alright, the enclosures I built have about a 1/4 beyond the speaker and they barely clear my door panel but they do is the important thing.

can they be cut at all to reduce diameter? or not? Is the lip plastic (bendable)? Or metal?

Look at the picture I posted. That is a 6.5". Does it look like there is much more room for another 3/4"s of speaker? Its going to be tight, and then there is barely any mounting depth. And when an MDF ring is used, the full factory grill might not fit on. We will have to see.
