ok sorry whats a front stage? if its componets, yes but not now. If not im just a dumb *** I have a optima, do I really need a ho alternator with 2000w? Im not going to be playing rms at 2000, ill prob never hit 2000w.

depedning on the size of your stock alt you may not need an HO Alt but i can guarantee you that you would benefit from it

what you have to understand is that your bass and your highs work hand in hand to prove that listen to one without the other,shaveing some of your bass budget to add a nice set of speakers and a amp will make your system sound a whole lot better otherwise you will hear a whole lot of bass and nouthing else

ok over all im only listening to rap with very deep bass, i dont care if the sq isnt perfect, but i will def invest in some speakers around mid summer. And as far as treb, its not like you can understand what they rap about anyways lol jp. Keep in mind this is my FIRST system ever, and i am only 16, working at $10.23 an hour. And I have to pay for gas in this f-ing V8, which gets an amazing 15mpg the way i drive:crying:

all we are saying is if you are going to have almost 2 grand in a couple of months you could use that 2 months to find a better setup... not many people are big fans of JL manly due to the price... shop around and def. spend a couple hours and go threw the threads on here you will learn a lot

Your choices are ill advised. You could do A LOT better for $1800, INCLUDING a front stage with an amp dedicated to it. You don't need a $700 hu. Get somethign more modest and invest that money into comps/amp. It'll sound 10x better.

optima yellowtop - $150

1/0 guage knukoncepts wiring kit - $150

alpine 9852 head unit - $160

mb quart dsd 6.5" components - $120

150wx2 amp - ~$150

TC sounds 3hp from forum classifieds - ~$300

orion 1200d - ~$200

Grand total= ~$1,700 + installation

yeah for 2 grand you could get alot better equipment that w7 is nice. u dont need the screen hu,, get something in the alpine family. and u forgot about building or having built a box for the sub, and ur gonna have like $50 in miscilanious or more. defentaily read the post around here and u can find out u can do a lot better with your money and ebay can be your friend

Not really, most people and 99% of noobs would rather add a sub than invest in a front stage. But front stage IS important.
