FI Q in a Phase Box.

tuan

you have a shop in Orange County right??

how can someone come down there and hear and see the box??

BYW that ABC Box looks good too.

I see you like to play the victim card ... like everyone is out to get you.

At least you admit that the sensitivity loss was seen at extremely high SPLs, where, just as mic placement, everything matters.

Now ... was this a single (narrowband) frequency problem ... or was it a broadband loss across the board?
I'm NOT "playing any victim cards....like everyone is out to get (me)." A lot of people are attacking team toxic bass designs without knowing anything about it.

It's not a band width problem. Like I said...not too many people know what the loading board does. But yes...it effects every bandwidth at every volume.

Yes, I work at a shop in Garden Grove. You are definitely welcome to come by see and hear it. You can find more info here: http://www.advancedcarcreations.com. I'll even buy you a drink next door. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm there monday through friday.

Tuan, just get me a TL number please. It really means nothing but ANYTHING will suffice. an RTA would be even better. I KNOW every vehicle is different but that doesnt mean that in your application it isnt a good representation of what this box can do. That is unless the numbers are less than satisfactory. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Tuan,

I don't know about the other members' motives, but the reason I am asking for data is because I live thousands of miles away from your shop, and do not have the opportunity to see the abilities of your designs first hand. However, if you can offer some sort of proof to me that this Phase Box is as impressive as you would have us believe, I might actually be interested in a purchase in the future. I am capable enough to build basic enclosures, but have neither the time nor the desire to do the research and multiple builds needed to produce something of this supposed caliber.

Just my 2 cents...

I was told, years ago when I first began involving myself in car stereo, that a bad install can make a good woofer sound bad, and a good install can make a bad woofer sound pretty good. YET....people will buy a woofer by the specification numbers, and then proceed to instll them poorly. When the sound is less than what they expected, they proceed to call the manufacturer a liar with hyped claims about what the product was supposed to do, but didn't. So....the numbers might seem to satisfy you, and yet, it will STILL depend on how the install is done, anyway....right?

Sure, I might like to see the numbers, as well. However, if the numbers look good in a Honda, will there be the same difference in a Ford? I understand what Tuan is saying about different measurements for every vehicle.

I think that if you guys are that interested in findind out about this, buy one, and test it for yourself. I see guys who will lay out $1000 for a set of woofers without blinking. When they don't like them, they'll sell them for $500. Yet, squeal at spending $250 for a custom enclosure!!! Sorry, I don't see the problem.

One hiccup in your argument.

We, the collective doubters here, are not the "masses" ..... we're a group of educated individuals, who actually do build our own enclosures. We are the ones out there blaming manufacturers for out bad installs ..

we simply came here questioning Tuan's Magic box ... asking him to back it up with something....Wolf was cried ... points were made ... data was requested ... nothing showed up ... it just kind of ended.

I'll make it down to hear the box sometime soon and report back my findings.

I'm going to spend $250 on an enclousre bassed on the seller's claims and the sellers claims only?

Yes things are very install dependant but they are also quality dependant. And "Install Dependant" largely means "Enclosure and enclosure placement dependant." What are we discussing here? and enclosure.

If you guys are a bunch of educated individuals who build your own boxes...chances are you will never buy one of our enclosures. Not only that...you guys are the ones attacking Team Toxic Bass about the designs to begin with and demanding data. You guys are the people criticizing our videos. You don't remember the video of the 2 15" XBL^2 Avalanches (weak motors) and 1 colossus doing a hairtrick? I guess if that doesn't say much...I hope you can do better.

All I can say is...just go ahead and build your own enclosures. Measure your own enclosures and get your own numbers. Heck...why don't you build a enclosure that plays all the way down to 22 hz and then meter it and see if the results and "numbers" will be of any significant. BTW have you ever been to a sound quality competition? Do they use a RTA? And why not? We will have results where the meter does mean something...IN THE LANES!!! We're tired of people continuously asking us to prove ourselves. We've done that over and over again...and most importantly at World Finals. End of story.

You guys will never get results or help from myself or my team with that kind of attitude towards us and our designs. I have always been good to those that have been good to me.

Team Toxic Bass and Toxic Enclosure Engineering will do just fine without having to prove ourselves again and again.

Good Marketing > Joo

Am I going to buy a Chevy just because they have made the courvett and it was good? No.

Also, I had no problem getting a small hair trick from a single Avalanche 18 in a conventional ported enclosre with a third the power...144dB @ 35Hz is moving air. It wasnt a spectacular hair trick like in the video...but it would fuzz it if it wasnt too long.
